At the time, Owen Burns was Sarasota’s largest landowner and was responsible for significant real estate, business, and cultural development in the town. Lido Beach is about 2 miles away, and Siesta Key is about 10 minutes away by car. Either way, a day on the beach is within easy reach. If you prefer a day of shopping, both downtown Sarasota and St. Armand’s Circle are within easy distance. In fact, you can easily walk to the shops and cafés in the downtown area if the shops right within Burns Court are not what you need. On Saturdays, the Lemon Street Market, an impressive farmer’s and artisan market, ends just a block away from Burns Court. Morning walkers or joggers will love all the options in the area, including a walk or ride across the Ringling Bridge, or a waterfront walk around Island Park, just a short distance from Burn’s Court.
At Burns Court you are near it all, but the quaint nature of this area will leave you with the feeling that you are tucked away from the hustle and bustle. If you like to live in or near the heart of the city, Burn’s Court is a definite must see.
